Hey there!
Yes, yes I know, I haven't posted in over a week. I apologize profusely. I will try as hard as I possibly can to post more often. Much more often. Alright, now what you can for... The Haunted Pumpkin Patch! Yay!!! This is what we're doing to part of our yard this year. Usually we just put fake spider webs on the bushes, inflate a few things, and that's that. But this year, I wanted more. So, I came up with a theme. Fall. Yes, I know it's simple, and VERY broad, but I thought: No one trick-or-treats in our neighborhood (very tiny, not worth the walk), so why not just decorate for the entire season, not for the night? i decided to have pumpkins and scarecrows to incorporate a bit of Halloween. So here's what I got.
Supplies:
Scarecrow Families- However many you want
Pumpkins- The more the merrier
Fake spiderwebs
A hay bale- Real or fake
Scissors
First, stick the Mom and Dad Scarecrows into the ground. Make sure to have them open to the rest of the yard/road.
Next, put your kid(s) in the hay bale. If you have a lot of kids, or extra scarecrows, you can either get another hay bale, or stick them in the ground. I got my real hay bale at our local feed/tack shop for $8, and we're going to fertilize with it once Halloween is over.
After that comes the pumpkins! As I said before, the more you have, the better. You'll fill your "Patch" better if you have a lot of pumpkins. You can also use gourds, or squashes. I got my pumpkins at Ace Hardware for 3-8 dollars each, depending on the size. Ace had a pretty good selection, and I got 8 pumpkins, different sizes and colors. Anyway, now you have to put the pumpkins in the patch. Just spread them out so it looks like you have a lot, maybe stack them, do your own thing. Go crazy! ;)
Now for the spiderwebs!!! So what you're going to do is take your webs out, and spread them out, break them up (use scissors if needed) and start decorating! You can wrap them around groups of pumpkins...
Entwine a couple in spiderwebs...
And attach the kids to hay bales forever :)
Don't be afraid to put random webs, here and there, or just do something else entirely. Have fun!
Ta-da! Excuse the horrible camera quality.
There you go. A Haunted Pumpkin Patch.
Good Luck!
